Running for over 14 years, Ridgewood operates a camp aimed at all levels. Our camp is a combination of riding and learning  about stable management and equine sports.  Arts & crafts and fun themed days are also part of the experience.  So whether your child is at the beginner level or looking to improve their skills we have a fantastic program for them.  As well as improving their riding skills, our campers get to make new friends, enjoy safe independence away from home and of course, have fun! Each year we accept young riders aged 6-14 and with a variety of excellent horses and ponies for all levels, we will have the perfect fit for your child.  There is no doubt that our campers will enjoy their time and various horse riding activities that Ridgewood Farm has to offer.

What to Expect at Camp
  • Campers ages 6-14 years-old are welcome.

  • Campers receive 8 structured lessons throughout the week, each lesson is an hour in length.  Fun pony game relay races, small hacks around the property and much more!

  • Riders are taught with the emphasis on sound basics of equitation and good horsemanship.

  • For the more intermediate/advanced rider, we offer a more extensive program which allows riders to continue developing their riding skills in order to meet higher goals.

  • When not riding, campers will be taught stable management and horsemanship skills. These topics will vary from day to day but usually include visits from the farrier and vet.

  • By the end of the week each camper will walk away with a better understanding of horses and will have made some great new friends.

This summer we are pleased to have Tracey in the role of our Head Counselor.  Tracey completed a Bachelor of Science with an Honours in Science and a Masters in Biology. Tracey will be starting medical school in Australia this Fall with the hopes of becoming an orthopaedic surgeon.  Tracey's love for horses and riding started at a very young age when she attended her first summer riding camp. Tracey has competed in both the hunter and jumper ring and has been teaching for 8 years.  She has helped to train young horses and has a strong passion for natural horsemanship and likes to incorporate that into all aspects of her riding from the ground to the show ring.  We are very happy to have Tracey join us this summer as she helps pass along her love for horses to your children in a fun, safe and exciting environment.
