CAMPS
Running since 2005, Ridgewood operates a camp aimed at the beginner to intermediate level. Our camp is a combination of riding and learning about stable management and equine sports. Arts & crafts and fun themed days are also part of the experience. So whether your child is at the beginner level or looking to improve their skills we have a fantastic program for them. As well as improving their riding skills, our campers get to make new friends, enjoy safe independence away from home and of course, have fun! Each year we accept young riders aged 7-14 and with a variety of excellent horses and ponies for all levels, we will have the perfect fit for your child. There is no doubt that our campers will enjoy their time and various horse riding activities that Ridgewood Farm has to offer.

What to Expect at Camp

20 campers max each week.

Campers will be split into groups and receive 5 structured lessons throughout the week.

Riders are taught with the emphasis on sound basics of equitation and good horsemanship.

Fun pony games, small hacks around the property and much more!

When not riding, campers will be taught stable management and horsemanship skills. These topics will vary from day to day but can include visits from the farrier, chiropractor and vet.

NEW THIS YEAR to our camp program..... a compact, wellness track that blends equestrian activities with mindfulness and movement to boost empowerment and confidence. You can expect a mix of Pilates and Yoga, breathwork, rider-centered body awareness, crafts and co-operative games that support balance and focus.

By the end of the week each camper will walk away with a better understanding of horses and will have made some great new friends.
Camp Hours are from 9:00am to 3:00pm
Before care - 8:30-9am After care - 3-3:30pm
Camp is a great way to experience horseback riding in a relaxed, safe and fun environment - perfect for beginners!!

Eden
Hi, my name is Eden, and I am part of the Ridgewood Farm show team. I have been riding for 6 years. Some of you may recognize me as the summer camp counsellor from last year. I am so happy to be returning this summer to teach you all about horsemanship, riding and most importantly, having fun. I love watching all the riders progress in confidence each and every week. I look forward to getting to know all of you and seeing what fun this summer will bring.
Elainah
Hi, my name is Elainah. I have been riding for 6 years and have spent the last 4 riding right here at Ridgewood Farm. I will be one of the summer camp counsellors this year, and I am excited to help riders develop strong horsemanship skills while building confidence along the way. I bring lots of summer camp experience to Ridgewood Farm this year from my previous years running camps at the Town of Newmarket and the Town of East Gwillimbury as well as my years as a lifeguard. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and being part of a fun and positive summer at the farm!
